On the 14 September, three Year 13 students completed the 3 Peaks Challenge which involved climbing three of the highest peaks in the UK. This included Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scaffell Pike in the Lake District and Snowdon in Wales.
Miss Gillingham, Billy Moone, Jack McDermott and Sam Dixon who completed the challenge were offered to endure this once in a life time experience by the Transformation Trust who supplied accommodation, tour guides and travel in between mountains.
Miss Gillingham and the students were partnered with three ladies form the Hilton Group who equipped the Barnhill attendees with t-shirts and fleeces for the weekend which was gratefully accepted.
With enthusiastic attitudes the team trekked the mountains within the space of 24 hours (which included the travel in between peaks!) which is an amazing achievement and would be well recommended to others interested in this field of leisure.
